Jio Platforms, a large Indian company, is planning to sell new shares to the public in what is called an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company hopes to raise about $3.2 billion (approximately 275 billion rupees) from this offering. The money raised is intended to help repay some of the company's debts.

The price for each share is set between 1,065 rupees and 1,119 rupees. Investors who are considered 'anchor investors' were scheduled to start buying shares on October 19, 2026. The IPO will then open to regular individual investors, also known as retail investors, on October 21, 2026, and will close on October 23, 2026.

If all the shares are sold at the highest price, Jio Platforms could be valued at 10.3 trillion rupees, which is about $108 billion. This would make it the fourth-largest company in India based on its market capitalization. This estimated value is twice what the company was valued at in 2020 when other big companies like Meta Platforms and Google invested in it.

The IPO is being watched closely because of changing ideas among investors, especially younger people. Some younger investors are looking for quick profits rather than investing for a long time. Akash Ambani is the Managing Director of Jio Platforms.
